I want to focus specifically on toning our skin and explain why. It’s so important and I will also be sharing a DIY toner that I used several years ago whenever my skin.  So why would we tone our skin this was a question that I would ask myself in the beginning stages of my skincare journey and answer.

This we need to talk about our skin’s pH a pH scale ranges from zero to 14-0 being most acidic and 14 being most alkaline our skin. When it’s too alkaline our skin can be very dry and sensitive and whenever.

Beauty Tips For Acne Oily skin It’s too acidic it can be very oily and that’s typical. When we get most breakouts so throughout. The day our skin produces oil and that’s why most facial cleansers tend to be more alkaline typically having a pH of above 7. So that way it removes the excess sweat and oils but then after we cleanse it our skin is basically.

Stripped and that’s why I can feel tight and dry after we’ve washed. It so that’s why we need a slightly acidic toner to balance the skin’s pH a toner helps return. The skin’s pH back to normal so to speak toning our skin not only balances.

The skin’s pH but it also helps to remove any leftover makeup or oily. The residue that our cleansers don’t get rid of and it also helps to close our pores an important step. When you’re trying to fight acne now the problem with many toners out there is that they’re full of alcohol which does absolutely no good to our skin it actually defeats.

The entire purpose of having a toner because it dries out the skin. So our skin’s pH is not restored so as many of you know. I always find it better to go all-natural and make myself. The DIY toner that I mentioned, in the beginning, contains only two ingredients apple cider vinegar and green tea apple cider vinegar is basically.

The result of fermented apples and the reason. It’s so good for our skin is because it helps clear excess oils it acts as a gentle exfoliator because of the alcohol C acids it contains. It can also help improve acne and acne scars and most importantly it helps to balance.

The natural pH of the skin I’m sure we all know that green tea is full of antioxidants. So it helps to fight to age green tea contains EGCG compounds that help to reactivate skin cells. That is damaged because of pollution sunlight and just poor lifestyle habits it also has anti-inflammatory properties. That help to reduce redness and inflammation now the best part is that whether you have sensitive skin normal or oily skin.

You can customize this toner to fit your specific skin type. So let me show you how to make this so you want to make sure you’re using quality ingredients here because we’re going to be putting. This on our face so you want to use raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar.

With the mother, this ensures you’re getting all the amazing benefits it has to offer and I recommend you use an organic one. I also, recommend that you use organic green tea nothing else added to it just pure green tea and we’re also going to need a glass jar. So you want to brew your tea like you normally would and then let it cool down once it cools down. We can make our toner if you have sensitive skin you want to mix one part apple cider vinegar.

With four parts green tea if you have normal skin mix one part apple cider vinegar with two parts. Green tea and if you have oily skin mix one part apple cider vinegar with one part green tea so you can use a measuring utensil like this. One to make things much easier and now just mix the amounts according to your skin type. I have normal skin so I’m going to add a 1 part vinegar in two parts greens tea into my glass jar.

I know apple cider vinegar has a very particular scent. So if you don’t like it you can try adding a few drops of your favorite essential oil like lavender or tea tree. Oil which will also, add even more benefits so now just shake it up and we’re ready to use. It so after I wash my face every morning at night.

I apply some toner using a cotton round and then I let it dry and continue. With the rest of my skincare routine and I always floor mine in the fridge to make sure. I’m getting all the benefits the toner has to offer so as I said earlier.

I use this toner for a long time when my skin was really bad it helped me tremendously in my battle against acne and it’s still one that I’d like to go back to every now and then because it does so much good for the skin. So remember to store this in the fridge and make a new one at least every week to make sure. You’re still getting all the benefits and let me know in the comments below.
